Refugee resettlement

IMG_8416.JPG

Volunteers and our Reception and Placement (R&P) case managers work together to receive and welcome refugees, providing core services and material needs for their first 90 days in Oklahoma. Core services provided by Rising Village are defined by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Populations, Refugees and Migration (PRM) and include:

  • Securing safe and affordable housing

  • Furnishing homes with basic essentials

  • Applying for public assistance and insurance

  • Ensuring families receive their Social Security cards

  • Establishing care with a doctor

  • Enrolling children in school

  • Enrolling adults in ESL classes

  • Conducting cultural orientation

  • Connecting families to other services

We can't do this without the help of volunteers and generous donors
